June at the Rosary Shrine

Upcoming events this June in St Dominic’s:

Saint Dominic’s Priory will be taking part in the Platinum Jubilee Fair on Sunday 5 June in Queens Crescent. We will set up a stall from 11am-5pm, to give away Rosaries, prayers, and flyers about the church and our services, and to enjoy time with the local community. Do drop in, and join us in some ‘street evangelisation’!

On Sat 11 June, our Rosary Garden will be open for a special charity event under the auspices of the National Garden Scheme. The garden and the church will be open from 1:30-5:30pm, and tickets, tea, and cakes will be sold for worthy causes supported by the NGS. Please note that pre-booking is highly recommended. Please visit <ngs.org.uk/view-garden/42299> for more information and to pre-book a ticket. This is a good occasion to bring a friend, who might not usually come to church, to enjoy the beauty of St Dominic’s and the Rosary Garden.

The usual opening times for the Rosary Garden (weather permitting, and from May–October) is:

Mon, Tue, Wed from 1-2pm; Thu, Fri from 3-4pm; Sat from 11am-12pm, and Sun from 8am–12noon. We thank our volunteers who help with opening up the garden for supervised access.

The Rosary Shrine will be taking part once more in the ‘Global Rosary Relay’ organised by WorldPriest, which is a great annual international event in which thousands of churches take part in praying the Rosary for the Sanctification of Priests. We will be praying and livestreaming the Rosary at 4:30pm on 24 June.

CONFIRMATION MASS (26 June) Bishop Nicholas Hudson will celebrate Mass on Sunday 26 June at 12 noon during which our young parishioners will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

PS: The Parish Summer Fair will be on 2 July in the Parish Hall and the front garden. Please support the Raffle for the Fair, and let’s pray for good weather!
