Monteverdi’s Vespers at the Rosary Shrine

Experience the brilliance, beauty and power of the 1610 Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The world-famous Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643) will be performed in the Shrine church on Monday 1st May (Bank Holiday) at 7:30pm.

This is the first concert held at the new Rosary Shrine, and, fittingly, is of one of best-known settings of the liturgical texts in honour of Our Lady. It will be performed by early music specialists His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts and Camerata of Curiosities, directed by Andrew Knowles.

Tickets are now available from the Repository at St Dominic’s, and also online: standard tickets are £15, or £25 for the front four rows of seating.
