The inaugural Shrine mass will take place on Saturday 22nd October at 12pm (see Fr Thomas to book a place). This will be followed that same evening by a prayer vigil in thanksgiving for the elevation of the Church to Shrine status, and for the renewal of the Church in this country. We pray that Our Lady will claim her dowry!
The Vigil will begin at 8pm on Saturday 22nd October at St. Dominic’s with a Reconciliation service before the Blessed Sacrament, followed by Compline at approximately 9.30pm. A Eucharistic Rosary Procession will begin at 10pm and finish with Benediction around midnight. St. Dominic’s has 14 side chapels, each dedicated to a mystery of the Rosary. The high altar is dedicated to the Fifth Glorious Mystery: the Crowning of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven. The Procession will take us around the Church with the Blessed Sacrament, pausing at each altar for prayer and meditation. For those who are super keen there is also the option of all-night adoration in the Lady Chapel at the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary.
