Schola Ste-Cecile from Paris to visit the Shrine (22 Aug)

The Octave day of the Assumption, 22nd August is the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the extraordinary form liturgical calendar. This year, the Rosary Shrine welcomes the famed ‘Schola Sainte-Cecile‘, the choir of the traditional parish of Saint Eugène in Paris, who are on a tour of England.

To celebrate this feast, there will be a Sung Mass in the Dominican rite at 7:30pm. Mass will be sung at the High Altar, and the Schola will sing the Dominican chants propers and sacred polyphony (Mass Ordinary) by François Cosset (c.1610-73).

After Mass there will be a candlelit Eucharistic procession with the praying of the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary in the appropriate Rosary chapel, ending with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. The Rosary will be interspersed with choral and organ music played on our historic ‘Fr Willis’ organ.

We hope you’ll join us here in Our Lady’s Rosary Shrine and honour her Immaculate Heart in this beautiful way.
