Sr Carino Hodder OP will speak on ‘Our Lady: Preacher of Human Dignity’, with a response from Mary Harrington.
In his apostolic letter Mulieris Dignitatem (The Dignity of Woman), Pope St John Paul II describes the Virgin Mary, the ‘woman of the Bible’,
as ‘the most complete expression’ of the human person’s profound dignity – a dignity which is rooted in our creation in God’s image and likeness.
In an age which seems unable to answer fundamental questions about the nature and identity of the human person, what can Our Lady teach us about how we can present this fundamental truth of human dignity anew to the modern world?
Speaker: Sr Carino Hodder OP
Dominican Sister and author of The Dignity of Women in the Modern World (Catholic Truth Society, 2025).
Respondent: Mary Harrington
A well-known British journalist and commentator.
