Welcome from the Parish Priest

A message from the Parish Priest and Rector

It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to this priory, parish, and shrine church under the care of the Dominican friars. Since the latter part of the 19th century we have ministered in this part of London, preaching the Gospel and administering the sacraments.

As parish priest, it is my task to look after those who fall within the parish territorial boundaries, to prepare them for the sacraments and to offer ongoing pastoral care. As rector of the diocesan shrine of the rosary, it is my responsibility to help promote the Most Holy Rosary to people near and far who come to visit this beautiful place. Other Dominican friars minister in the parish by celebrating the Mass and hearing Confessions. All of us friars fall under the care of the Prior, who is the superior of the Dominican community of friars. This is Fr Mathew Jarvis, O.P., who became prior during the summer of 2024.

Whether you are a parishioner or someone who is visiting us from further afield, you are most welcome among us. I look forward to meeting you in person in the near future. If you’d like to make an appointment to see me, I operate regular surgery meetings during the week; you can make online bookings here.
