This weekend we are pleased to welcome our brother, Fr Clifton Harris, who is visiting us from Jamaica to make the annual appeal for assistance with the friars’ work there.
Jamaica and Grenada form part of the territory covered by the Dominican Friars of the English Province, and these two houses rely greatly on fundraising in Britain to support their mission.

Last year around this time, Hurricane Melissa caused widespread devastation in Jamaica, and your generous donations were instrumental in helping the friars in Jamaica to assist the people and parishes that were badly affected.
Fr Clifton will give an update not just on this relief work, but also on how the friars are building for the future, focussing on renewing Catholic communities, on education as a path out of poverty, on teaching the Catholic faith, and on growing the Dominican presence.
A short video report has also been produced, which will be shown in the parish hall after the 10am Mass.
